Lac de Lavaud
An artificial lake on the upper Charente, part of the Lacs de Haute-Charente (created by a dam and filled in 1989).
Great for relaxed lakeside days, walks and picnics. There are beach areas around the lake (for example Plage de la Guerlie).
Lac du Mas Chaban
A neighbouring lake (filled in 2000), also part of the Lacs de Haute-Charente. A lovely spot for nature and peaceful views.

A historic city in Charente, set on a plateau above the Charente river – a great day out for food, culture and views.
Oradour-sur-Glane
